"Tofino is located on the west coast of Vancouver Island in Canada's most western province, British Columbia. Tofino is the western terminus of the Trans Canada Highway, at the very end of Highway #4."

By Car from Vancouver: Board the ferry at Horseshoe Bay for Nanaimo's Departure Bay.

Or take: the ferry from Tsawwassen to Duke Point near Nanaimo, or Swartz Bay near Victoria. Note that travelling through Victoria will add approximately an hour and a half to your trip. Driving from Victoria: Travel north on Highway #1, following the signs to Nanaimo and Parksville. The Trans Canada Highway becomes Highway 19 outside Nanaimo. Just before Parksville take the Highway #4 exit and follow the signs to Port Alberni.

Follow Highway #4 through Port Alberni to the bottom of the hill. Turn right at the T junction, still following Highway #4. Check your gas now as the last fuel stop before you reach Tofino is just outside Port Alberni. You're on your way to Clayoquot Sound and the Village of Tofino. Driving time 60 - 90 minutes from Port Alberni, depending on traffic.
