Chef Richard Moore received his training in culinary management at George Brown College in Toronto. After graduating Richard traveled west to apprentice at Chateau Whistler, spending the next three years studying all aspects of kitchen operation and mastering valuable cooking and management techniques. Richard transferred to two other Canadian Pacific hotels and resorts, the Empress Hotel in Victoria and Jasper Park Lodge.
Richard came to Tofino as sous chef at the Wickaninnish Inn where he developed his flair for West Coast Canadian cuisine over the next three years. After working with many great chefs and cooks, Richard was ready to open Cafe Pamplona at the Tofino Botanical Gardens with great success. Richard represented the Tofino Food and Wine Festival and awards at Vancouver Island competition. We are very pleased that Richard has now joined the team at shelter restaurant. |
